Jordan Shaw Wins Young Butcher of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Jordan Shaw on winning Young Butcher of the Year at the annual Smithfield Awards, which were held at Butchers’ Hall in London; understands that Jordan, who works at S Collins and Son butchers in Muirhead, beat national competition from other butchers aged 24 and under; notes that the award ceremony has run for over 30 years and that, as well as young butcher of the year, the ceremony also rewards the UK’s finest craft butchery products, including traditional pork sausage, best burger, gluten-free product, best bacon, BBQ product and black pudding; understands that products are evaluated using a points system, with the best products awarded bronze, silver or gold; praises S Collins and Son butchers for receiving two gold awards for their traditional pork link sausage and their kitchen-ready product, Mexican meatball melt; congratulates Jordan and S Collins and Son butchers on being recognised at a national level, and wishes both Jordan and the butchers continued success in the future.
