Skye Tales Game Launched in Dundee

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Dundee’s Puny Astronaut on the launch of its first game, Skye Tales; understands that Skye Tales, released on Nintendo Switch, is a puzzle-adventure game, which promotes mindfulness and accessibility via the adventures of Skye, a friendly dragon; believes that Puny Astronaut’s co-founders met while studying games development at Dundee’s Abertay University, with an early version of the game earning a funding award at the University's 2016 Dare to be Digital developer competition; further believes that Puny Astronaut worked on the game’s development with accessibility charity, AbleGamers, to make the game as accessible as possible to all; recognises that Skye Tales is the first title to be published by 4J Studios, a Dundee company best known for developing the Minecraft series for games consoles; believes that the multi-partner collaboration shows the strength of Dundee’s games sector, and further believes that the games industry in Scotland has huge growth potential in the world's largest entertainment market.
