National Lottery Heritage Fund Grant Awarded to HAIR

The motion

That the Parliament pays tribute to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which has awarded a grant to HAIR (Heritage, Attitude, Identify and Respect), a project run by Edinburgh International Jazz & Blues Festival in Lothian; notes that the amount awarded was of £80,000, which, it understands, represents 91.95% of total costs; further notes that the 45th annual Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival will take place from 14 to 23 July 2023, with over 100 concerts taking place in theatres, parks and clubs across the city; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of spreading culture and Scotland’s diverse heritage; believes in the development of young artists and the importance of breaking down barriers to access the arts; further believes that these projects deserve recognition, respect and appreciation for what it sees as their critical efforts in supporting and rebuilding communities, and thanks the National Lottery Heritage Fund for providing the resources needed to preserve these projects.
