Volunteer Scotland Launches Charter Champion Pledge
The motion
That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the vital role of volunteers in communities across Scotland and commends them for their contribution; understands that the cost of living crisis has increased the demand for volunteering services at a time when many third and statutory sector organisations are experiencing financial strain; further understands that this has increased the risk of volunteers being engaged in inappropriate roles; recognises that the Volunteer Charter provides 10 principles for ensuring that volunteers are engaged in meaningful and legitimate roles that do not undermine the roles of paid workers, and thanks Volunteer Scotland for launching the Charter Champion pledge during Volunteers' Week for organisations and individuals to uphold and promote the principles of the Volunteer Charter.
