80th Anniversary of the Fire Fighters Charity

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges the 80th anniversary of the Fire Fighters Charity; understands that the charity was founded in 1943 to provide support to bereaved families and orphans of the brave firefighters who laid down their lives during the Blitz in the Second World War; further understands that the charity provides rehabilitation facilities and nursing services for injured firefighters, works in partnership with Children’s Burn Trust, provides online support, and aims to empower individuals to live full, healthy and happier lives; remembers all the firefighters and their families who have tragically died in the line of duty, and thanks firefighters across the country for their commitment and dedication to their local communities.
