Young Businesswoman from Clydebank Wins Rising Star Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Demi Lee Kelly, a 23-year-old businesswoman from Clydebank, on winning the International Rising Star award at the 2023 Social Media Hair and Beauty Awards; understands that Demi launched her own brand of beauty products two years ago, after dropping out of her PE teaching course at university, as she was not pursuing her dream; further understands that she researched how to start up her own brand, looking at how to find a factory and a supplier, ensuring that she was making the right business choices before investing a great deal of money into it; understands that Demi found her feet in the industry, and, after building up a loyal client base across Glasgow, opened up a salon with her mum in the centre of Clydebank; recognises the hard work that Demi has put in to get to where she is today, and applauds her for this brilliant achievement.
