John McGinn from Clydebank Named William Hill SFWA Men's International Player of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates John McGinn, from Clydebank, on being named the William Hill SFWA Men's International Player of the Year for a fourth successive season; understands that John, who is the current captain of Aston Villa FC, has been recognised for his contribution to football, with the player scoring four goals in his last seven games for Scotland’s national football team; understands that John was born and raised in Clydebank, with his parents, his twin sister and his two older brothers and that he has stated that his determination and dedication stems from his upbringing in the town; acknowledges the inspiration that John will give to young "Bankies" looking for a career in football, and applauds him for this brilliant achievement.
