Glasgow Libraries Carers Week Drop-in Events

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that, during Carers Week 2023, Glasgow libraries are running a series of drop-in events where locals can chat to a member of the Glasgow City Carers Partnership Team about what support is available; believes that, while caring can be hugely rewarding, it can also have an impact on all aspects of a carer’s life; considers that having the right information and support for carers can make all the difference; understands that raising awareness of caring and highlighting the challenges that unpaid carers face helps to recognise the contribution that they make to families and communities; believes that it also helps people, who do not think of themselves as having caring responsibilities, to identify as carers and access much-needed support, and notes that the carer drop-in events run until 16 June 2023, and are taking place between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm at libraries in Govanhill, Ibrox, Partick, Dennistoun, Pollok, Hillhead, Easterhouse, Polloksheilds and Castlemilk.
