University of Glasgow 13th in the World in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the University of Glasgow on placing 13th in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2023; acknowledges that this result also places the University of Glasgow first in Scotland and second in the United Kingdom; understands that the THE Impact Rankings are a measure of the contribution of over 1,700 universities to the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG); further understands that the SDGs cover activities across social, economic, and environmental sustainability, such as reduced inequalities, decent work and economic growth and climate action; considers that the notable results for the University of Glasgow include coming second in the world for Sustainable Cities and Communities, sixth in the world for Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and ninth in the world for Partnership for the Goals, and commends the University of Glasgow for this fantastic achievement.
