96-mile West Highland Way Fundraiser in 48 Hours for Andy’s Man Club

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the efforts of Kevin Woodward, of Cowdenbeath, and Stuart MacKenzie, of Ballingry, on their fundraising mission for Andy’s Man Club; understands that the pair have set themselves the challenge of completing the 96-mile West Highland Way in the space of two days; notes that the pair will set off from Milngavie at 6.00 am on 21 June 2023, with the goal of reaching the end point of Fort William the following evening; considers that walking non-stop and through the night will be an emotional, mental, and physical strain for the pair; recognises that both men are facilitators at the Andy’s Man Club in Cowdenbeath, and are eager to raise money and awareness of the club; commends the men for their hard work and dedication to supporting local men with their mental health after they began attending the club themselves; thanks them for all that they are doing to break down the barriers and stigma surrounding men’s mental health, and wishes them all the very best on their fundraising journey.
