The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges the extraordinary efforts of Perth resident, Nancy Barron, who walked 13 miles at Loch Leven on 21 May 2023 in order to raise funds for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS); understands that over 200 people took part in the Loch Leven Walkathon, walking either 7 km, 12 km or 13-mile distances, and that, collectively, an incredible £20,850 was raised; notes that Nancy Barron completed the walk, having had a stroke in September 2021 that left her with aphasia, and has been supported in her rehab by CHSS, and that she now volunteers with the CHSS aphasia support network to offer her personal expertise on the material used to help those in recovery; commends the work of CHSS, which organises fundraising events with the aim of supporting the one in five people living with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live their lives to the full; congratulates Nancy Barron on her remarkable achievement, and wishes her and the other participants all the best for the future.
