Inverclyde Organisations Benefit from £250,000 National Lottery Fund Awards

That the Parliament welcomes the news that nine organisations in Inverclyde are setto benefit from a share of National Lottery Community Funding totalling morethan £250,000; notes that Branchton Community Centre Association will benefitfrom £135,753, which will go towards funding a development officer andvolunteer co-ordinator roles, as well as the purchase of laundry equipment forcommunity use; further notes that River Clyde Homes has been allocated £33,000to be spent on funding an outreach financial wellbeing officer position, which,it understands, will allow the housing association to identify households whomay be struggling before they end up in rent arrears; understands thatCraigmarloch School in Port Glasgow, will receive £9,936 to fund the provisionof recreation and coaching experiences at Castle Semple for additional supportneeds pupils, while £3,540 will go to Inverclyde Council to deliver a freesummer of science programme through local libraries for children and families;appreciates that Inverclyde Homeless Forum will use its grant of £6,000 tosupport its warm spaces service, while £10,000 will go to In-Work EnterprisesLtd for installing accessible staging in its greenhouses; acknowledges thatMoving On Inverclyde has received two separate batches of funding, one worth£26,000 to launch a programme of weekend activities for its service users andtheir families, and another worth £8,000 to go towards creating a partnershipforum where service users can find out about cost of living support; welcomesthe news that Ladders4Action will spend its £9,900 grant on anAfrican-Caribbean literature festival, sharing stores of the UK Windrush migration,and that the final award has gone to Riverside Youth Band, worth £8,200, to bespent on the purchase of more instruments to help increase participationnumbers; thanks the National Lottery Community Fund for enabling theseorganisations to continue to support the people of Greenock and Inverclydeconstituency, and wishes the benefitting groups all the best as they embark ontheir projects.
