11th Wishaw Brownies Level 2 Young STEM Leader Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates 11th Wishaw Brownies on achieving a level 2 YoungSTEM Leader Award (YSL2); understands that the Brownies complete tasks toachieve the four badges, discover, create, inspire and lead; notes that YSL2focuses on leadership skills, qualities and behaviours, as well as challengingstereotypes, misconceptions and outdated views in STEM; further notes that theYSL programme aims to inspire more young people to develop an interest andpursue the study of STEM subjects and relevant future pathways; understandsthat the programme is funded by the Scottish Government, and led by theScottish Schools Education Research Centre (SSERC), along with a range ofpartners, including the four Scottish science centres, three Scottish STEMAmbassador Hubs, science festivals, YouthLink Scotland, Young Scot, Children inScotland, Education Scotland, and the Scottish Mentoring Network; thankseveryone involved in YSL, and wishes the Brownies all the best on their YSLjourney.
