Congratulating Victim Support Scotland on Achieving the Volunteers Investment Award
The motion
That the Parliament commends Victim Support Scotland for achieving the Volunteers Investment Award, granted by the UK Volunteering Forum (UKVF); recognises what it sees as the vital work of Victim Support Scotland’s volunteers and their contribution to supporting people affected by crime; understands that Victim Support Scotland’s highly-trained volunteers provide essential support in both communities and courts across Scotland; further understands the positive impact that volunteers have on the experiences of people affected by crime, by providing emotional, trauma-informed support and helping them to navigate the criminal justice system, and believes that this award represents the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.
