Braes High School Wins at Scottish Education Awards 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Braes High School on being awarded the Making a Difference Award (Secondary) at the Scottish Education Awards 2023; understands Braes High School has been implementing an "Onwards and Upwards" attainment challenge, which was nominated for the award; further understands that the attainment challenge seeks to close the poverty-related attainment gap, removing barriers to learning and providing targeted support to pupils; understands that Braes High School was nominated alongside Arbroath High School and Stirling Secondary Autism Provision at St Modan's High School in Stirling; considers that all nominees of the Making a Difference Award (Secondary) had to demonstrate transforming the life chances of children and young people, as well as creatively and constructively overcoming challenges, particularly through literacy, numeracy and health and well-being subjects; congratulates Braes High School once more on its Making a Difference Award (Secondary), and wishes it well for the future.
