Pupils from St Peter the Apostle High School in Clydebank Win Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service Contest
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Beth Dalrymple and Katie Orr, from St Peter the Apostle High School in Clydebank, on winning the prestigious Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) contest; understands that the competition was held in Parliament House in Edinburgh and saw teams from St Peter’s, the Royal High School and Shawlands Academy battle it out for the top prize by discussing the topic, “The most pressing equality issue in Scotland today is.... to address it I would....”; further understands that the judging panel was made up of several professionals with backgrounds in law and public service, and that they were all impressed by the quality of the speaking and skills on show; recognises that this is the first time a school from the sheriffdom of North Strathclyde has triumphed in the long-running and popular competition, and congratulates Beth and Katie for this outstanding achievement.
