Balfron High School's Runners-up at the Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Jasper and Harry, from Balfron High School, on being runners-up at the Law Society of Scotland's Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament on 14 June 2023; understands that Balfron High School was one of four teams in the final, with Broxburn Academy being crowned the winner over Balfron High School, Albyn School and George Watson College, to take the prize, and notes that the Donal Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament was established in 1999, in memory of the former First Minister, Donald Dewar, and is Scotland's largest annual schools debating tournament, with 64 teams from across Scotland taking part in this year's tournament.
