The Brave Jnr Ltd Receives National Lottery Community Funding for Esports

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The Brave Jnr Ltd on receiving £8,930 from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that The Brave Jnr Ltd will use the funds to bring together young people across Lanarkshire to participate in national competitions; further understands that the Wishaw-based organisation was founded in 2019 by Emma Williamson, after seeing how much her own daughter enjoyed gaming and witnessing the benefits of esports first-hand; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of esports, which, it believes, boosts strategic thinking, teamwork, communication and confidence; further acknowledges what it sees as the transferable skills gained from esports that the students can apply across a wider spectrum of future careers, from medical, engineering, aviation, and computer sciences, and wishes The Brave Jnr Ltd all the best for the future.
