Blackness Primary School Wins Social Enterprise Schools Award 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils and staff at Blackness Primary School, in Falkirk, for winning a Social Enterprise Schools Award 2023; understands that the award ceremony was held on 15 June 2023 at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh; notes that Blackness Primary School won the award for its enterprise initiative to encourage the community to keep the John Muir Way more environmentally friendly, while also strengthening the connections between the pupils of the school and developing the enterprising skills of all pupils; recognises that pupils at Blackness Primary have taken part in various activities to achieve their aims, including an Honesty Shop project, where the pupils grew their own plants in the school's greenhouse for the community in exchange for a donation to the school, and making keyrings with eco-friendly messages encouraging the general public to conserve the John Muir Way; again congratulates all pupils and staff on winning a Social Enterprise Schools Award 2023, and wishes these young entrepreneurs well for the future.
