Maggie’s Aberdeen 10-year Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Maggie’s Aberdeen on the 10-year anniversary of the opening of its centre in the grounds of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary; notes that, over the years, the charity has raised more than £400,000 through its annual Culture Crawl, with the latest fundraising walk taking place on 16 June 2023; acknowledges that the charity provides free cancer support and information in centres across the UK and online, and has welcomed 72,000 people to its centre in the "Granite City"; understands that Maggie’s Aberdeen Culture Crawl in 2023, which began at Duthie Park, led over 300 participants on a tour of Aberdeen’s cultural hotspots; further understands that the money raised will allow it to continue to support those struggling with cancer free of charge, and wishes the charity every success going forward.
