Calman Trust Ltd Awarded £138,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Inverness-based charity, Calman Trust, on being awarded £138,522 from the National Lottery Community Fund; notes that the Calman Trust supports young people aged 14 to 25 by providing them with practical education and individual support designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge required for independent living; acknowledges that the Calman Trust offers learning-based activity sessions, tailored one-to-one support, flexible work experience through its social enterprise café, Café Artysans, and employability progression aftercare services; recognises that the Calman Trust will use the funding to enhance its package of support to young people facing significant mental health challenges, and who are disengaged from all other activity locally, and help them to make the transition into independent living or community participation; understands that a further 61 organisations in the Highlands and Islands have benefited from the National Lottery’s Community Fund, and wishes the Calman Trust the greatest success in the roll-out of its mental health support package for young people in the Highlands.
