Glasgow Taxi Outing to Troon Celebrates its 76th Year

The motion

That the Parliament thanks the Glasgow taxi drivers and all who participated in the 76th “Outing to Troon”; notes that the outing marked the anniversary of the first trip, which was taken to Saltcoats in 1945, treating children with additional needs to an unforgettable day out; understands that there were more than 100 taxi drivers in attendance, escorting more than 300 children through Glasgow to the seaside town; further understands that the drivers donned fancy dress and the cars were decorated, with awards given for best decorated; notes that members of the public and local businesses also got involved by taking part in fancy dress and decorating their shop fronts; applauds the continued commitment of Glasgow Taxis, and wishes the organisers, members of the public and all involved every success in their future endeavours.
