Fife Council's Sarah Purves is Named Young Planner of the Year at the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Scotland Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Sarah Purves on recently being named Young Planner of the Year at the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Scotland Awards for Planning Excellence; understands that Sarah had started working with the Fife Council as a trainee planning assistant intern after leaving high school; recognises that Sarah has since gone on to become an integral member in planning services, including by leading on large-scale planning applications, and supporting young people's pathways into planning that are alternative to university; understands that Sarah was also shortlisted for Scottish Planning Authority of the Year, and has been further entered into the UK national shortlist for Young Planner of the Year; believes that Sarah is and will continue to be a role-model for young planners and people across Scotland, and extends its very best wishes for her continued success in her career.
