Peter Dempster Receives BEM

That the Parliament congratulates Peter Dempster, of Clydebank, on being awarded a British Empire Medal in The King’s New Year Honours list for services to swimming and the community in Clydebank; acknowledges that Peter has been a member of Clydebank Amateur Swimming Club since he was aged 10 in 1938; notes that Peter has held all posts on the club’s committee, and has served as the club’s president; recognises that, through his work as a coach and a volunteer, Peter has helped many Clydebank residents develop their swimming ability successfully, and wishes Peter all the best for the future as he continues his work with the club into his 90s.
