Armed Forces Day Flag Competition

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates 12-year-old Lilly Russell, from Cornhill Primary School, on winning Aberdeen's Armed Forces Day flag design competition; recognises that prizes were also awarded to Emily Cai, from Robert Gordon's College, and Nina Cowie, from Broomhill Primary School, for their designs; understands that the three winners received a family pass to the Gordon Highlanders Museum, among other prizes; notes that the winning design will be printed on 2,000 hand-held flags for Aberdeen's Armed Forces Day 2023, which will feature more than 1,000 serving veteran and cadet force personnel parading through the city centre; understands that over 500 school pupils submitted designs; commends all entrants on their contributions, and looks forward to seeing Aberdeen celebrate the contributions of the Armed Forces community on 1 July 2023.
