Larbert High School Pupil Heading to Houston for Visit to NASA’s Johnson Space Centre

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Charlie McBride, a pupil of Larbert High School, on securing one of eight places available to visit the NASA Johnson Space Center; understands that Charlie was one of an initial 600 applicants vying for a place; further understands that Charlie was presented with this opportunity following his selection and participation in the Scottish Space School's 2023 summer programme; notes that the Scottish Space School is a week-long summer programme for 80 successful applicants from S5, delivered through the University of Strathclyde's Faculty of Engineering, and represents the institution's longest-running outreach programme; further notes that, during the visit to the NASA Johnson Space Center, which took place from 12 to 16 June 2023, students attended lectures and activities by university staff and visiting NASA representatives; congratulates Charlie on securing his spot on the week-long learning journey to NASA, and on his success at Scottish Space School 2023, and wishes him all the best for the future.
