The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Feniks Counselling, Personal Development and Support Services LTD on being bestowed the 2023 Campaign of the Year award at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) annual awards ceremony recently; understands that Feniks has operated as a charity in Edinburgh since 2007, supporting the integration and wellbeing of the Central Eastern European community in Scotland; believes that Polish men in Scotland are twice as likely to commit suicide than Scots, due to stigma and reluctance to seek help; understands that the award recognised the "Shed Your Armour, Show the Scars!" campaign, using armour as a symbol of emotional shields and encouraging men to seek support; notes that the campaign was led in October 2022 by Community Ambassadors with lived experience, and engaged 20,000 Polish people in Scotland, receiving positive feedback from the community; understands that it was the first-ever campaign worldwide addressing the problem of suicide among Polish men, making it a ground-breaking and impactful initiative, and extends its very best wishes to everyone at Feniks for continued success in the future.
