Canal View Primary School Rights Respecting Schools Gold Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Canal View Primary School on being awarded Gold by UNICEF UK's Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) programme; understands that the award is given to schools that create safe and inspiring places to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured, they are able to thrive, and where those values are part of daily school life; appreciates that, in 2019, Canal View Primary School was given the Silver award, recognising that the school is “rights aware” and has a “rights respecting ethos…empowering children”; notes that, to progress to Gold, the school required to embed the rights included in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child across the whole school community, and commends the leadership and coordination work carried out by Canal View Primary School’s RRSA representatives.
