The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Professor Scott Bryson, from Seamill, on raising over £8,000 with Gift Aid by completing the 10x10 challenge; notes that the challenge includes cycling across 10 islands, including Cumbrae and Arran, in 10 days, which included travelling on 23 ferries; understands that the money from the challenge will go to the motor neurone disease (MND) charity, MND Scotland, of which Professor Bryson is a trustee, in order to fund research into medicines that can slow, stop or reverse the progression of MND; is aware that MND is a rapidly progressing terminal illness, which stops signals from the brain reaching the muscles; acknowledges that Professor Bryson has worked in a variety of roles in the pharmacy profession, both in Scotland and Canada; recognises that he wanted to use this challenge to make a difference to the lives of people with MND and help to continue the amazing work done by MND Scotland, and wishes Professor Bryson and MND Scotland all the best in their important campaigning and fundraising work.
