The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Carlton Seamill B&B on being crowned the Bed and Breakfast of the Year Overall Winner at the Scottish Hospitality Awards; acknowledges that the 1883 stone-build Victorian house is owned and run by Avril Rennie, whose parents bought it in 1949; notes that three of the five bedrooms have been used as a bed and breakfast for the past 20 years; understands that this is the second time the bed and breakfast has been named as overall Scottish winner after coming out on top in 2017; is aware that Avril believes that the mix of fantastic location and unique building makes the Carlton Seamill B&B stand out from the rest; understands that Avril has welcomed visitors from across the world, including Africa and the Caribbean as well as some famous guests such as TV presenter, Dominic Littlewood, and tennis coach, Judy Murray, when she opened the tennis courts in West Kilbride; believes that this most recent success is testament to Avril’s passion and hard work over the years, and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
