Primary School Pupils from Bo’ness Score Local Success in Play for Jay Football Tournament

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the efforts of pupils and organisers of the Play for Jay football competition, held in Bo’ness on 15 June 2023; understands that this is an annual event held in memoriam of Jay Young, a Bo’ness resident who had a passion for football; notes that the initial launch of Play for Jay began in 2015, with the initiative intended to benefit children like Jay who struggled with access to sport at times due to illness or disability; recognises that pupils from across the Bo’ness cluster of primary schools, including Kinneil, Deanburn, Grange, Bo’ness Public and St Mary’s primary schools, and from a variety of year groups, all participated in the tournament; notes that the winner of the 2023 tournament and the much-coveted trophy was Bo’ness Public Primary School; congratulates all of the primary schools in Bo’ness for their participation in this event, and wishes them all the best of luck for the tournament next year.
