One Million Step Challenge for Diabetes UK
The motion
That the Parliament commends all those who will be participating in the One Million Step Challenge for Diabetes UK throughout the summer; understands that Fitbit is sponsoring the challenge to help raise vital funds for life-saving research and ensuring that everyone living with diabetes receives the support and care that they need; further understands that NHS Lanarkshire is responsible for delivering health care to over 553,000 people, including 27,450 people, or 4.9% of the area, with diabetes, but that it is thought that 4,470 individuals remain undiagnosed; understands that Lanarkshire’s population is younger than the Scottish average; thanks Diabetes UK and NHS Scotland for their commitment to helping improve the lives of those with diabetes, and wishes everyone who is taking on the challenge all the best.
