Recycle a Bicycle Initiative

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the recycle a bicycle initiative, which is hosted by Cairney Cycles in partnership with the Newmains Community Trust and Getting Better Together Shotts; understands that the initiative will consist of a car boot-style event, where people can swap or sell bicycles and spares, encouraging the community to join the reduce, reuse and recycle culture; understands that the Global Recycling Day campaign states that, each year, this Seventh Resource (recyclables) saves over 700 million tonnes in CO2 emissions and supplies 40% of the world’s raw material needs; thanks Connor Mooney for his commitment to promoting a safe cycling culture, and wishes everyone participating in the activities all the best.
