The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Angus Irvine, of Motherwell Athletics Club, on winning the prestigious Atlas Running Belfast 100-mile race; understands that the race is run on a flat tarmac loop, which is completed 97 times to cover the 100-mile distance; further understands that Angus completed the epic race in 15 hours, 13 minutes and 37 seconds, was only one of six to finish the race, and finished two hours and 30 minutes ahead of the second finish; believes that regular physical activity lowers the risk of heart disease, diabetes type 2, some cancers, and bone fractures, and that it improves mental health and life span; wishes Angus and Motherwell Athletics Club all the best for the future, and encourages everyone to participate in regular outdoor activities.
