The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services (ADRS) Crisis Outreach service, based at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow, which has been named Scotland’s Nursing Team of the Year; understands that the service was established in 2021, with the aim to address the rising number of non-fatal overdoses and drug-related deaths in the city; recognises that the 12 nursing staff within the team, from across addiction, mental health and acute adult specialties, undertake focused outreach across Glasgow to support patients, as well as their families and carers, by providing practical help and advice on the impact of alcohol and substance use on physical and mental health; commends the variety of interventions that the service provides, including, it understands, training on recognising an overdose and naloxone administration, and acknowledges what it sees as the positive contribution that the outreach service is making to prevention efforts in the city and to patient care more broadly.
