James N’Dow Awarded St Peter’s Medal
The motion
That the Parliament recognises and congratulates the award of the St Peter’s Medal to Professor James N’Dow by the British Association of Urological Surgeons; notes that Professor N’Dow has had a long and distinguished career in this filed, having been appointed as Director of the Academic Urology Unit at the University of Aberdeen at its inception in 2001; understands that he has raised in excess of £40 million for research in this filed; further understands that he is the coordinator of an EU-funded project into prostate cancer, as well as coordinating a further EU project investigating prostate, breast and lung cancers; notes that Professor N’Dow is the founder and trustee for Horizon Trusts UK charitable trust, a body creating sustainable healthcare for babies and mothers in the Gambia, and further notes that he is a deputy lieutenant of Aberdeenshire.
