Official Opening of the South City Way in Glasgow
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates the official completion of the South City Way to the River Clyde, in Glasgow, on 6 July 2023; recognises that the 2.5km route has created a high quality, direct and safe walking, wheeling and cycling connection between Queen's Park and Glasgow city centre; notes that over 935,000 cycling journeys have already been made along this accessible, sustainable and inclusive corridor; believes that this project will make it easier for more people to leave the car at home and make healthier and happier choices to get to the places that they need to go every day, and acknowledges the work of Sustrans, Glasgow City Council and community organisations, including Hidden Gardens, Govanhill Baths Trust, Bike for Good, South Seeds and Crossroads Youth and Community Association in the engagement with the local community and delivery of the project.
