Father James Flynn, 50th Anniversary of Priestly Ordination

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the 50th anniversary of the ordination of James Flynn, parish priest at St Bernadette’s, Motherwell; understands that Father Flynn, who is originally from Carfin, will celebrate his Golden Jubilee of his priestly ordination in July 2023; notes that Father Flynn was ordinated in 1973 and spent a large part of his ministry serving in Angola and then Portugal before returning to Scotland; thanks Father Flynn for his dedication and hard work, supporting his parishioners and the wider community of Motherwell, and wishes Father Flynn all the best for the future.
