Opening of New Cumnock Honeypot Dalleagles Respite Facility for Young Carers

The motion

That the Parliament applauds the work of the Honeypot Children’s Charity in opening the new Honeypot Dalleagles respite facility for young carers in New Cumnock; understands that the facility will provide valuable breaks and an escape from stress and at home demands for young carers, as the charity works towards its aim of supporting young carers, and that it will receive its first guests on 11 August 2023; notes that the opening of the facility marks the expansion of the Honeypot Children’s Charity’s respite facilities into Scotland; believes that the new respite facility will further help disadvantaged young people to reach their full potential within Scotland; recognises the contributions of the Richard Porter Family Foundation and Simon Clarke for sponsoring Honeypot Dalleagles; acknowledges the plans to further expand the facility, and wishes all the best to the charity as it aims to fulfil its goal of supporting young carers.
