John Gilfillan BEM Donates £1,000 To Lochgelly High School Prom Cause
The motion
That the Parliament commends John Gilfillan BEM, who is a local businessman and philanthropist from Cardenden, Fife, for donating £1,000 to supporting pupils to attend Lochgelly High School's end of year prom; understands that John kindly donated this sum after hearing that several young people would potentially miss out on the opportunity to attend the prom because of the very difficult financial crisis that has been facing many local families; believes that the cost of living crisis could have prevented the young people from making lasting memories with their fellow classmates and teaching staff; recognises that the funding was used to obtain suits, dresses, jackets, shoes, and more for the pupils, and thanks John for his generosity, which was appreciated by all.
