Launch of Trackside Bikes
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the launch of Trackside Bikes, a new community shopoffering e-bikes for loan and for sale in Shotts; notes that Trackside Bikes isan extension of a cycling project set up by South Lanarkshire community-basedhealth initiative, Getting Better Together (GBT); understands that the shopoffers both conventional pedal-powered and electrically-assisted bikes forsale, weekly e-bike hire, a try-before-you-buy scheme, as well as a 30-day freee-bike hire offer for NHS staff; further understands that, in addition to thesales and loans, the shop will also provide key educational opportunities foryoung people living locally by providing work placements in cycle mechanicswhere they refurbish, recycle and rehome bikes, and wishes all the participantsand volunteers involved great success with their new local enterprise.
