NHS Grampian's New Ethos Radiotherapy Machines

Lodged by Kevin Stewart Standard Motion 13 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament commends NHS Grampian for investing in two new Ethos radiotherapy machines, which, it understands, will give the north east the largest adaptive cancer treatment capacity in the UK; recognises that the machines will allow clinicians to vary the dose of radiotherapy each time and adapt to changes, be it in the patient's weight, and the size or shape of the tumour; welcomes the fact that the technology has a high degree of precision, which means that tissue around the tumour will not be damaged unnecessarily, and wishes all patients, who are treated by the machines all the very best.
