The motion
That the Parliament recognises the contribution of a £1,000,000 energy, which, it understands, helped vulnerable residents in East Lothian with their winter energy bills between 1 December 2022 and 31 March 2023; notes that the fund was delivered as a partnership between Community Windpower, East Lothian Council, BeGreen Dunbar and was administered by Advice Direct Scotland; understands that the fund targeted the vulnerable and the terminally ill; welcomes that 1,400 families and individuals across the entirety of East Lothian benefited from the fund; is aware that the fund was supported directly from Community Windpower’s onshore wind farms near Aikengall, East Lothian; welcomes that Community Windpower’s total community offering throughout Scotland has now, it understands, reached over £8 million, and wishes everyone that was involved in the successful delivery of the energy fund at East Lothian Council, BeGreen Dunbar, Advice Direct Scotland and Community Windpower every success in their future endeavours.
