Inverclyde Council’s Active Schools Sports Development Volunteer Awards 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates all of the nominees and winners of Inverclyde Council’s Active Schools Sports Development Volunteer Awards 2023; recognises that School Staff Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Emma Forster of Clydeview Academy, Community Sports Hub (CSH) Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Douglas Brown for Gourock Park Bowling Club, Young Volunteer of the Year went to Ross O’Donnell of Sport 4 All Club, Sports Leader Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Sophie Harrison of St Columba’s High in Gourock, and that the Volunteer of the Year award went to Janice Hendrie of Inverclyde Athletic Club; welcomes that the event featured a talk by sportscotland partnership manager, Barry Cook, which highlighted the power of volunteering; believes that the Active Schools Sports Development Volunteer Awards is an excellent way for the community to celebrate the achievements of volunteers in Inverclyde’s Schools, and wishes all the local sportspeople and teams all the best for the future.
