Charity Climb in Aid of John Muir Trust

The motion

That the Parliament commends Dr Chris Lennox on his charity challenge to climb every Scottish summit in aid of the John Muir Trust; understands that Dr Lennox, a retired consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at University Hospital Wishaw, raised over £2,000 after conquering all 1,200 recognised Scottish hill and mountain ranges; further understands that Dr Lennox successfully climbed his last summit, Creag Bhalg, near Braemar, on 9 July 2023, in the company of 15 family members, including his five grandchildren; notes that the John Muir Trust was established in 1983 to help safeguard the natural beauty of wild places for future generations; congratulates the John Muir Trust on celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023, and recognises its outstanding preservation and restoration work across Scotland; thanks Dr Lennox, his family and all the John Muir Trust volunteers for their commitment to restoring our wild places for all to enjoy, and wishes Dr Lennox a happy retirement.
