Intergenerational and Community Integration at Carrondale Care Home

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the efforts of staff at Carrondale Care Home in Carron; understands that Carrondale is a private provider and part of the Avondale Care Group; recognises that the dedicated staff within Carrondale ensure that residents receive high-quality, person-centred care; notes that Carrondale provides its essential services for elderly care but also complex needs individuals, which has a dedicated unit within the grounds; recognises the important work of all staff, including the activities coordinator, who ensure that residents are able to interact and integrate with the wider community through a variety of events; notes that some examples of this work include sessions hosted by Burns Gym for residents and their families, visits from Larbert High School pupils for various activities, and recurring visits from local children through Tammi’s Childminding; believes that such intergenerational activities provide a sense of community to those residing within care homes, giving the residents of Carrondale opportunities for socialisation, mental and physical stimulation and emotional support, while also providing benefits to the children; recognises the hard work and dedication of all staff at Carrondale Care Home, and wishes all staff and residents the best for the future.
