Bathgate Thistle Community Football Club Awarded a Scottish FA Platinum Legacy Quality Mark

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Bathgate Thistle Community Football Club on being awarded a Scottish FA Platinum Legacy Quality Mark accreditation from the sport’s governing body; recognises that the platinum award is the highest possible level of accreditation for community clubs across Scotland and is achieved by consistently demonstrating the ambition of increasing participation in football and driving high standards and improving the development of not only players but also coaches and volunteers; notes that the club celebrated its 10th anniversary with a two-day Festival of Football attended by almost 1,000 children at Balbardie Park; understands that this follows on from the recent community award, where the club was presented with the Jim Walker Memorial Award for making an outstanding contribution to the betterment of the community, and wishes continued success to both the club and the club chairman, Paul Marr, in continuing their work within the community.
