North East Firefighters Commended for Turkey Earthquake Search and Rescue Efforts

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the four firefighters from the north east of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) who have received a Chief Officer Commendation Award; understands that the firefighters were part of the search and rescue efforts in Turkey during the 2023 earthquake disaster, and were presented with commendations from SFRS Chief Officer Ross Haggart; further understands that Tony Armstrong and Keith Gauld, from Aberdeen’s North Anderson Drive Fire Station, were among the four firefighters recognised, and were supported by team and family members who remained at home throughout their deployment; thanks the members of SFRS for their contributions, and wishes them all the best going forward.
