New Men’s Mental Health Group Set to Launch in Aberdeen
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the expansion of male suicide prevention charity, Andy’s Man Club, to Aberdeen; understands that the charity is due to offer free-to-attend, peer-to-peer support with the launch of its new group in Northfield, to help local men with their mental health struggles; understands that the charity first launched in 2016, with the aim to reduce stigma surrounding men’s mental health by providing a safe place to have open and honest conversations; further understands that the charity has already launched 115 groups across the UK, with over 2,600 men in attendance, and meetings held both in-person and online; notes that the new group is set to begin in Northfield on 10 September 2023, in order to mark Suicide Prevention Day 2023, and wishes Andy’s Man Club all the best with the launch.
