Wishaw by Hannah Turner

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Wishaw-based photographer, Hannah Turner, who is hosting an exhibition of her work at North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre during the months of September and October 2023; notes that Hannah is a photography student at Glasgow School of Art; understands that the exhibition was inspired by Hannah’s home town of Wishaw, and explores the changing landscape of the small town through the lens of its residents; further understands that the exhibition highlights the strong community ties and networks that are at the heart of Wishaw, past and present; believes that, Hannah, through the power of her photography, invites everyone to reflect on their own contributions to their community and the importance of preserving memories and valuing heritage; thanks Hannah for bringing this story to life through her visual art, and wishes her all the very best for the future.
